Invited to Gibraltar to observe Barbary macaques

In January 2019, I was invited with two of my conservation colleagues at Ape's Den in the Upper Rock Nature Reserve by the Dr Eric Shaw, director of The Helping Hand Trust, and Tessa Feeney, his research assistant. They gave us a guided tour of the reserve with plenty of information about the biology and the behaviour of  its main inhabitants: Barbary macaques. They, then showed us the research station located on the rock of Gibraltar. It was very interesting and the landscape was amazing. 

En Janvier 2019, j'ai été invité avec deux de mes collègues en conservation à Ape's Den dans la Réserve Naturelle de Gibraltar par le Dr Eric Shaw, directeur de The Helping Hand Trust, et Tessa Feeney, son assistante de recherche. Ils nous ont donné une visite guidée de la réserve avec pleins d'informations sur la biologie et le comportement de ses habitants: les macaques de Barbarie. Ils nous ont ensuite fait visité leur station de recherche située sur le rocher de Gibraltar. C'était très intéressant et le paysage était magnifique.

The Helping Hand Trust

This organisation welcomes lots of research students (BSc, MSc, PhD...) to study Barbary macaques. They always need an external point of view to find new research questions. Moreover, the view from the research station is beautiful. If you're interested, don't hesitate to contact them and to act for Barbary macaques conservation! :D

Cette organisation accueille de nombreux étudiants chercheurs (Licence, Master, Doctorat..) pour étudier les macaques de Barbarie. Ils ont toujours besoin d'un point de vue extérieur pour trouver de nouvelles problématiques de recherche. De plus, le vue de la station de recherche est plutôt jolie. Si vous êtes interessés, n'hésitez pas à les contacter et à agir pour la conservation des macaques de Barbarie! :D
